Slow Swim

Felt like it has been a month since I swam. But it has only been a week. I felt really slow. Lots of people in the pool, including lots of kids using the lap lanes that were just goofing around. They were “swimming” (mostly flopping around and doing a lot of underwater dolphin like things) in the medium lane, swimming the wrong way, splashing each other. One almost ran straight into a guy doing his laps at the correct speed and in the correct direction. Good thing they didn’t come into my lane or they would have had a lecture about the lane rules. I haven’t been able to lecture a kid in over 6 weeks… so I am totally jonesing. I guess it is a good thing school starts in a few weeks.

  • 4 laps TI crawl
  • 4 laps TI crawl on “vanilla” side
  • 2 laps side stroke/breast mix
  • 2 laps kick-board

I stopped by the fabric store and the cycle store before swimming and after weighing in at WW (down .4 this week… not much but…better than I had though since my exercise was down this week.) I got some cool new socks and some different race fuels to try out at the cycle shop. I tried on some bike shirts, because I need the pockets for extra water. But a double XL was still too small. Stupid bike clothes people making stuff for barbie dolls. At the fabric store I got some cool fabric with bike racers and runners. They didn’t have any swimmers. I am going to make a little tote bag for my little tri partner for her to keep her gear in.

Run or ride later today is on schedule. Tomorrow, Coach Brad, the neice and I are going out to the tri site to run through the course. A little swim, bike and run tomorrow. Yea!
